For the new year I swore off buying clothes for 2016. (You can read why here) It's been an awesome opportunity to sew things I have always wanted to, but avoided because it was intimidating. A swim suit and a leather jacket have been on my list for a long time. Since I needed both, I decided to finally tackle it!

I went with a retro silhouette, with high waisted bottoms, and flounced halter top. It's by no means perfect, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out! It's a flattering style for me because it hides my mommy tummy, and the flounce on top balances out my wide hips

I know it's late in the season for a jacket, but I still wanted to share it. I used a black pleather (vinyl) and quilted a cross pattern into the sleeves.
